Google Calendar Synchronization

One master calendar.
Everyone stays up to date.

MV Calendar Updater automatically distributes events from a master Google Calendar to designated individual calendars. Create the schedule once and let the application keep everyone's calendar synchronized.

Built for simple calendar management.

MV Calendar Updater is designed around a master-calendar workflow: define events once, identify the people who should receive them, and allow the synchronization process to handle the individual calendars.

Automatic Synchronization

Events are created or updated on designated calendars based on the current master schedule.

Change Tracking

The application maintains synchronization records so it can determine which previously synchronized events are still active.

Google Calendar API

Calendar operations are performed through Google's official Calendar API using OAuth authorization.

How it works

01 — Read

The master calendar is read to obtain the current schedule and event information.

02 — Distribute

Each event identifies the people whose individual calendars should receive the event.

03 — Reconcile

Existing events are updated, missing events are created, and events removed from the master calendar are removed from destination calendars.

MV Calendar Updater ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a calendar synchronization utility that uses the Google Calendar API to read a designated master calendar and synchronize events to designated individual calendars.

1. Information the App Accesses

The App may access information necessary to perform its calendar-synchronization functions, including:

  • Google Calendar information available through the authorized Google account.
  • Calendar names and calendar IDs.
  • Event information such as titles, dates, times, locations, descriptions, and event IDs.
  • Names, email addresses, and internal person identifiers supplied in the App's configuration.

2. How Information Is Used

Information is used only to operate the calendar synchronization system. The App reads the master calendar, determines which people should receive an event, creates or updates corresponding events on their calendars, and removes synchronized events that no longer exist on the master calendar.

3. Google Calendar Data

The App requests the Google Calendar authorization scope needed to manage calendars and events. Google Calendar data is accessed through Google's official APIs and is used to provide the functionality described above.

The App does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, selling data, or unrelated purposes.

4. Storage

The App processes calendar and configuration information on the system where the synchronization program is installed. The current implementation writes operational data to local JSON files, including calendar metadata, event information, and synchronization tracking information.

The operator of the installation is responsible for securing that system, its files, backups, and access credentials.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. The App does not intentionally disclose calendar information to unrelated third parties. Google may process information as necessary to provide the Google APIs and Google account services.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Information may remain in local configuration, calendar, event, or synchronization files for as long as it is needed to operate the App. Because this is a self-hosted synchronization utility, the system operator controls those local files and is responsible for deleting them when they are no longer needed.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the deployment to protect information processed by the App. Because the App may be self-hosted, security also depends on the configuration of the server, operating system, Google account, OAuth credentials, backups, and network.

8. Google API Limited Use

MV Calendar Updater's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements where applicable.

9. Your Choices

You can revoke the App's Google account access through your Google Account security settings. You may also contact the system operator to request information about locally stored configuration or synchronization data.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed specifically at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App's functionality or data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
